Adrian Leguina / Principal Investigator

Adrian is a Senior Lecturer in Quantitative Social Science whose internationally esteemed research on social, cultural and digital inequalities has been published in highly influential outlets. His research deals with the ways intersecting inequalities are produced and reproduced in access to arts and culture, education, and values. This programme of inquiry is sociological but is in constant dialogue with other disciplines such as media, education, cultural policy, digital humanities, gender studies and critical race theory. Adrian’s research has been funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.

Rhianna Garrett / Research Assistant

Rhianna is a doctoral researcher at Loughborough University, investigating the underrepresented of racialised minority academic staff in UK higher education, focusing on the career trajectories and imagined futures of racialised minority PhDs and early career researchers. Notably, she specialises in global mixed-race and intersectional identities across locational and temporal space. In addition, she is a Research Fellow at NTU, the Global Coordinator of the Critical Mixed Race Studies Executive Board, founder of Active Together, an anti-racism consultant, and community organiser. 

Rhianna is also the author of the blog Rhi-Mixed views, articulating complex narratives of the mixed-race experience in the UK.
